Get the Fab Guys app
There is nothing to download. Fab Guys is not in the App Store or Google Play, and there is no APK or installer file. You add it to your home screen straight from your browser in two taps, and it then opens full screen with its own icon — no address bar, no app store account, and updates arrive automatically.
iPhone and iPad
You must use Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot install web apps — that is an Apple restriction, not a bug.
- Open fab-guys.me.uk in Safari
- Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
- Tap “Add” in the top right
The icon appears on your home screen labelled FG.
Android
Chrome usually offers to install it automatically. If you dismissed the prompt, use the manual steps.
- Open fab-guys.me.uk in Chrome
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right
- Tap “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”
- Confirm
You are on a computer
Adding to the home screen is a phone feature. Open this address on your phone:
fab-guys.me.uk/app/
You can also use Fab Guys in a desktop browser — everything works, you just do not get a home screen icon.
What you get
| In the browser | Added to home screen | |
|---|---|---|
| Browse, profiles, chat | Yes | Yes |
| Own icon on your phone | No | Yes |
| Opens full screen, no address bar | No | Yes |
| Works after a bad connection drops | Partly | Yes — shows an offline notice |
| Alerts for new messages | No | Yes — once you turn them on |
Message alerts
Get a notification when someone messages you, without keeping the site open. The alert carries no message text — it only wakes the app, which then fetches the wording from us directly. Nothing you are sent passes through Google's or Apple's servers.
On iPhone this only works once Fab Guys is on your home screen — Apple does not allow web notifications from a normal Safari tab.
Discretion
The icon is labelled FG rather than the full site name, so it is not obvious to anyone glancing at your phone. If you would rather have nothing on your home screen at all, using the site in a private browser window remains a perfectly good option — see staying discreet while dating.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Fab Guys app in the App Store or Google Play?
No. Anything claiming to be a Fab Guys app in a store is not operated by us. Fab Guys installs directly from your browser instead.
Do I need to download a file or an APK?
No. There is no file, no installer and no APK. Your browser creates the home screen icon itself, so there is nothing to sideload and no security warning to accept.
Why can I not install it from Chrome on my iPhone?
Apple only allows Safari to add web apps to the home screen on iOS. Open the site in Safari and the Share menu will offer “Add to Home Screen”.
Does it take up much space?
Very little — a few hundred kilobytes, versus tens of megabytes for a typical native app, because the site is loaded rather than installed.
How do updates work?
Automatically. There is no update to download and no version to fall behind on — you get the current version the next time you open it.
How do I remove it?
Delete the icon exactly like any other app. On iPhone press and hold, then Remove; on Android drag it to Uninstall. Your account is unaffected.
