Who writes these guides

Fab Guys guides are written and maintained by the Fab Guys editorial team — the
same people who run the platform. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names because
this is a site for gay and bisexual men, and the people who work on it are entitled to the same
privacy we ask you to protect for other members.

Why you can trust what you read here

• We run the service we write about. Numbers about activity, message volume,
  verification rates and city coverage come from our own live database, not from estimates. Every
  figure carries the date it was taken.
• We cite primary sources. Health, safety and legal points link to the NHS,
  Ofcom, Galop, Terrence Higgins Trust and gov.uk rather than paraphrasing them second-hand.
• We do not invent people. No fake testimonials, no invented member stories,
  no made-up statistics. Where a profile in an example is illustrative, it is labelled as such.
• We say when we are unsure. If evidence is thin or a rule is changing, the
  guide says so instead of guessing.

What we are not

We are not doctors, lawyers or counsellors. Guides in our sexual-health cluster are information,
not medical advice — they point you to NHS services rather than telling you what to do. If you need
clinical guidance, use an NHS sexual-health service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999.

How these guides are reviewed

Every guide carries a publication date and a last-reviewed date. Safety and health guides are
re-checked at least every six months, or immediately if the underlying guidance changes. Read our
