How the week works
The structure is simple and it is what makes Maspalomas easy compared with other Prides. An open-air main stage runs a programme across the week, the Yumbo Centre’s bars operate on their normal late schedule with more people, and the beach and dunes carry on as usual during the day.
Most of it is free. Unlike a circuit week, the main entertainment does not sit behind a ticket, which changes the budget considerably — the cost of the trip is accommodation and bar spend, not passes.
Where to stay
The bungalow complex you choose shapes the week more than a hotel would. Points that matter:
- Walking distance to Yumbo — the single most useful thing to optimise for, and more so during Pride when taxis queue.
- Adults-only and gay complexes book out first for these weeks.
- Playa del Inglés puts you nearest the action; Maspalomas proper is quieter and further out.
- Book months ahead. There is a finite number of beds within walking distance and this is when they go.

Getting there from the UK
Direct flights run to Las Palmas (LPA) from most UK airports year-round, which is a genuine advantage over the Mediterranean resorts. Flight time is roughly four and a half hours. The airport is about 30–40 minutes north of the resort by taxi or transfer.
Because flights are plentiful and accommodation is not, book in that order: bed first, flight second.

Practical points
- Late nights are the norm. Yumbo does not get going before about 10pm and runs very late — plan the following day accordingly.
- Sun. The dunes in May are hotter than they feel with a sea breeze.
- Water. A long walk out to the beach section with no shade is the most common minor mishap of the week.
